This campaign for Garnier was hugely innovative at the time. Expanding ad formats were all the rage, but they often fell flat of their true potential. I threw everything at the multiple expanding formats booked for this project. A video-quality animated sand surfer revealed messaging over the top of a fast-moving desert backdrop. Everything moved, and when the user rolled over the ad, the animation within the expanding panel blended seamlessly. I produced online campaigns, landing pages, games and rich emails for L’Oréal Group brands including Garnier and Maybelline New York for 5 years, from 2006 to 2011.
