This project was a wildcard, as I hadn’t worked on a branding project for years. I put Spicerack forward for Somerset County Council's pitch because the proposed centre was near to where I live. Many of my friends work in the nuclear industry, as a result of my proximity to Hinkley Point C. Our winning identity now adorns 4 innovation centres, which you can’t miss heading into West Somerset from junction 23 of the M5. Winning this 5-way pitch without a branding portfolio was a happy surprise. The breadth of our ideas for the Innovation Centre’s branding had the advantage of my knowledge of the local historical and cultural landscape, as well as the green energy industry in the Bridgwater area.
